We are thrilled to launch our website www.arizonafootball.net, a one-stop shop for the Arizona football community. Our goal is to create a platform where the football community can come together, share content & exchange information. Our mission is to provide a resource that will function as an information clearinghouse and a content hub for the entire Arizona football community.

What will the Arizona Football Network offer?

  • User-Friendly Experience

Navigating the Arizona Football Network will be easy and intuitive. The website will have an engaging interface that will make it straightforward to find the content you are looking for. Our platform will be optimized for a seamless experience whether on a desktop, tablet or mobile device.

  • Statewide Asset Directory

The foundation of the website is a searchable directory of assets and resources available statewide. Listings will be organized, categorized and visible on an interactive map. Everything will be included, from professional teams and trainers to youth flag football clubs, vendors and much more. Users will be able to browse listings & provide feedback; Owners can claim their listings, interact with their audience and gain additional insight about their customer base.

  • Local Football Stories

The website will feature a news blog that centralizes information from all around the state. Our dedicated team will bring you a curated blog of internet articles, podcasts around the state and exclusive content from local creators, including local college & high school students. The blog will also feature exclusive content series such as “Industry profiles” – blog interviews on individuals around the state at different levels in the football community.

  • Up-to-date Event Calendar

We understand the importance of having up-to-date information in the fast-paced world of football. In the near future, we will feature a searchable calendar of user-submitted football events organized in a user-friendly format.

It’s more than just football — it’s the culture, the grind, and the people who make it all happen. On the field or on the sidelines, this is your all-access pass.

Why was the Network created?

Three distinct factors led to this development of this concept:

  1. I have personally worked as a referee with multiple different youth leagues since 2017. While officiating games, I received a lot of general information from coaches, parents, players and other referees about various resources and activities. I realized that this feedback would be very valuable in the right context.
  2. Before moving to the Greater Phoenix area, I entered negotiations about expanding a flag football league into the Greater Phoenix region. I conducted significant market research on the regional football market, which I believed could provide value to interested parties.
  3. The State of Arizona has a significant and growing football presence at every level.

Arizona is currently home to a NFL franchise, 3 Indoor Football League clubs, 3 NCAA programs, 2 NAIA programs and over 350 high school teams playing football at the high school level. The state has hosted four Super Bowls to date and frequently hosts large-scale football events yearly, including the nationally recognized Fiesta Bowl, the Rate Bowl and the Arizona Bowl.

The state also has 15-20 semi-pro football teams, as well as a 5-team junior college football conference that was created after Maricopa Community College District discontinued the sport.

Arizona is the birthplace of numerous pro football stars such as: Terrell Suggs, Todd Heap, Chris McAlister, Jake Plummer, Pat Tillman, Danny White, Randall McDaniel, Philippi Sparks, Brock Purdy, Cam Jordan, Tyler Shough & Spencer Rattler among numerous others.

Additional Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the Arizona Football Network?

A clearinghouse for the statewide football community.

Our primary objectives are:

  • To maintain a database of statewide football assets
  • To provide a platform for information exchange
  • To showcase football talent at every level

How is it structured? OR What does the Network do?

Initially, there will be 2 foundational pillars of the website: the Directory and the News blog.

The Directory will contain a database of statewide football resources. Everything from pro teams to youth flag football, trainers, vendors, anyone who is directly or indirectly involved with the football community will be included.

The News blog will have a repository of football news from around the state along with links to all statewide podcasts. Users will also find curated articles exclusive to the website from local creators.

Where did the idea come from?

I played in a San Diego flag football league and eventually started working with the organization on a part-time basis. Before moving to Tempe, I entered negotiations about expanding the league into the Greater Phoenix market. I prepared a presentation as a part of my pitch to the owner. That opportunity failed to materialize but I ended up with lots of useful data on the Phoenix football market. The Arizona Football Network is the manifestation of that market research data.

Who created the Arizona Football Network?

Clayton Pinkins, former flag & semi-pro football player, current youth football referee.
